As part of its mission, The Frederic Whitaker and Eileen Monaghan Whitaker Foundation (The Whitaker Foundation) includes a nationwide Art Scholarship Program to educate future art professionals. The Art Scholarship Program was established to help art students meet the diverse educational needs of today’s professional art and museum world. The Whitaker Foundation through its scholarship program supports art students with a special emphasis on watercolor and museum studies.
Beginning in the Fall of 2014, The Whitaker Foundation has twice a year awarded $2,000 Fine Arts scholarships and $2,000 Art History/Museum Studies scholarships. Through the application process facilitated by The Whitaker Foundation, students are required to gain knowledge of the Whitakers’ works through their submitted essays or watercolor paintings. Once the students’ works are evaluated, winners are selected and the scholarships awarded in the Fall and in the Spring.
Recognition by the Whitaker Foundation aids students on their career path and gives the winners not only a financial but also a competitive edge. The Foundation increases the winners public exposure by connecting them with national art schools, museums, institutions and by exhibiting their artwork on the Foundation’s website and through social media.
Contributing to the Whitaker Foundation Scholarship Program, you as a donor become part of a long tradition of supporting the arts and American Watercolor across America. This support enables us to reach the widest possible audience and increase the number and amount of scholarships awarded.
The Whitaker Foundation accepts your gift with great appreciation on behalf of talented, deserving students nationwide. The Foundation is a 501 (c)3 charitable organization.
