Congratulations on winning the $2,000 Spring 2023 Art History Scholarship and best wishes ongoing to:
Eloise Schappert, a Sophomore at Western Washington University double-majoring in Art History and Environmental Science.
“This love of art history began with my love of history in general as a young girl. Obsessed with the French Revolution and the life of Marie Antoinette in particular, I found great pleasure in imagining what life was like at that epoch. Being a rather visual learner, I found that seeing the art from that time period drew me in like no words ever could, allowing me to truly picture and understand the history.
With each class I take, my goal of understanding and appreciating all forms of art is more and more refined while my love of the subject grows. Without a doubt, I will pursue art history as a career, in any form that it takes me, whether it be as a conservator, a curator, or even as a professor. I truly believe that I would not be satisfied in life if art history is not a major part of it….”
